To fix an annoying user interface on a cheap Denver DVD player, an Atmel AVR is programmed to decode the buttons and trick the DVD player to do the desired functions by emulating remote control signals. The AVR also takes over decoding the incoming IR signals and makes it possible to control the unit with other remote controls as well.

What Compiler did you use? Also, what CAD program did you use for the veroboard layout?
By LarsPontoppidan on Jul 14th 2006
Compiler is AVR-GCC, pcb layout is Eagle. The pictures from Eagle are scaled down from larger versions, to get antialiasing.

Rigtig fedt projekt du har lavet der, keep up the good work. Jeg skal selv til at starte på programmering af microcontrollere sammen med IR, og jeg tror dit projekt bliver en rigtig stor hjælp. Så mange tak fordi du har lavet denne guide til at hjælpe os andre nybegyndere.
