This project describes how I build the C64 Direct-to-TV device into a wooden box and fixed the flawed PAL circuit.
As the excellent text editor: Crimson Editor was released as open source, I did a couple of small modifications to make it even better. At least better to me.
To fix an annoying user interface on a cheap Denver DVD player, an Atmel AVR is programmed to decode the buttons and trick the DVD player to do the desired functions by emulating remote control signals. The AVR also takes over decoding the incoming IR signals and makes it possible to control the unit with other remote controls as well.
